1st "Boleima Fair" - Praça da República, Portalegre.
Boleima is a typical sweet from Alentejo. Boleimas arose from the cake made from the unleavened bread dough that Jews used to eat during Easter - in memory of escaping from Israel, prepared with water, flour, olive oil, salt and with no yeast ... To the basic ingredients other ingredients were joined, like sugar, cinnamon, applesauce, walnuts ...
